Charlie Dark is a man known across the international running community. He is known for his great smile and more to the point for being the founder and captain of the East London running fam called Run Dem Crew. A community of people with one passion- to be happy by running. To go from a non runner to a runner is a slow and painful transformation both mentally and physically. To meet a person who can inspire you by his own example to be better, to run harder, to train with knowledge and who helps you to become a better you- you find yourself entirely grateful to him. This is the case with Charlie Dark.
This year, for his birthday, the crew got together and made a special book for Charlie, to commemorate the love he has generated over the years from people who with his help have achieved small and large personal goals as runners and in turn as individuals.
This image carries a small part of my own personal gratitude for the incredible positivity I have gained by being part of Run Dem. For the personal achievements of running two half marathons and several more 10Ks around the world, for knowing that I have such a strong community of people to fall back onto. At the heart of it all is Charlie. At the heart of it all is Crewlove.
